Suki village in Kheda district, Gujarat, has achieved a historic milestone by becoming Kheda’s first and Gujarat’s third fully solar-powered village. This ambitious project was implemented by Jalark Solar Solution OPC Private Limited under the government’s Pradhanmantri Surya Gruh Yojana, a flagship program designed to make solar energy accessible and affordable for rural households. Each household in the village has been equipped with rooftop solar systems, providing families with stable, low-cost, and eco-friendly electricity.

This has ended the era of frequent power cuts and reduced reliance on costly grid supply. What makes the project unique is the active involvement of the villagers. They collectively contributed to fund solar installations for the temple and the dairy, two vital community institutions. The temple represents faith, while the dairy supports the livelihood of farmers. This contribution created a sense of pride and ownership among villagers, proving that development is strongest when the community takes part in it.
